In the beginning the Gods created titans to fill the world. Those Titans could harness the elements and grow the earth, and prepare it for the lower beings. One of those titans..Was a titan Thunderbird; He was a great eagle, with lightning pouring from his eyes, and even one mighty down beat of his mighty wings was as the force of the thunder and the gale winds themselves..He was a king of his realm, and He was proud, and noble..and he ruled it for thousands of years, watching over the new beings called humans, helping to guide them with the other titans of the earth, just as commanded by the gods...
One year.. One of the other Titans, had become displeased with the gods and the lowly task of caring for such a pitiful and weak species as the humans. So he went to the titans, to voice his aggravation, but he was turned away, even scolded for speaking against the creators...Jaded the titan slithered on it's way... only to be stopped by Thunderbird, who he had not gone to..
The wearied titan told the great bird of his thoughts, and to his great surprise, the bird had listened to him. So he pressed on pleading with the great eagle to go to the gods, since he was the only one he knew that could fly high enough to speak to them. He asked him to speak with the gods.
Agreeing Thunderbird had gone to the gods.. He had voiced the exact words spoken to him by the lower titan..Only to his dismay to be scolded himself by the gods, for such words.. How dare he question their perfect creations! Perfect?! Humans were not perfect! Humans were weak! And they could get sick, and they could die!
Enraged the bird went back to his dwellings.. and there he brooded, and he was visited by the slithering titan from before. He relayed what was said to him...and the lower titan was angered as well; How dare they call humans perfect! how dare they talk to a titan in such a way! But Thunderbird had stopped the Titan in his preaching, he had seen reason in the gods words even though it had taken him a while to realize it..The lower titan was aghast with such a change in stance! This could not be so!
The lower titan hissed and reared up at the bird, The Gods were daft! Seeing the position taken by the titan Thunderbird screeched at him and struck him down with a swipe of his mighty claw... Hurt by the actions of the bird, both physically and emotionally he slithered off, enraged..
Having healed in his layer the lower titan plotted against the bird, and the gods.. if the Gods would not change the humans.. he would have them destroyed.. So he snuck by in the night into the human camps and he destroyed their homes, and devoured their food supplies..and then slithered off without anyone the wiser.
in light of such a tragedy the humans went to the titans, pleading with them for help.. All helped even the lower titan... all..but Thunderbird.. Why should he help them? He had taught them how to hunt their own food, and they had been taught to make their own settlements! They should not need help! they should not need coddling! And so he refused to help.
The lower titan was pleased by the eagle's refusal.. and he looked up to the gods, telling them of Thunderbird's denial of the humans.. And this angered the gods; First he denies they are perfect, and now he refuses their pleas for help! the great bird had to be scolded once more! And as such injured the eagle with a strike under his left eye.
Wounded and taken aback by the gods' attack against him he became infuriated! And he himself would punish the gods! He beat his mighty wings and called his mighty call! He covered the world in his great storms and lit it up with his vicious lighting and flooded it with torrents of rain! He was going to destroy their precious humans and he was going to destroy their perfect world!
Seeing this the gods took action, they needed to stop the rampaging bird. They grabbed him by his front and by his back holding him down and tearing the feathers from his avian body.. and they kept tearing his feathers.. making his form smaller and smaller until he had taken the shape of a human baby..Perhaps this form would humble the delinquent bird! He would see and know what it would be like to be as a human! To get sick, to die as they do! But of course they couldn't tear away all of what was before.. He would never truly die, and he would keep his abilities... but he would not have the power to do as he had attempted... he would be naive and lost... he would need his own guidance... and so the gods created a guardian by taking a crow's egg, and infusing it with their power.. hatching it and placing the baby bird with the new body of thunderbird.. they would grow, and they will learn.. and the once great Thunderbird.. would hold the title of titan no more...
